2012年12月12日上午，我院2012级留学生在《中国概况》授课教师张平创老师的带领下参观了南越王墓博物馆。同学们认真聆听博物馆工作人员的讲解，仔细欣赏每一件精美的文物，详细记录文物介绍。通过参观学习，留学生们加深了对中国文化的了解和认识，感受到了中华文化的博大精深、源远流长，激发了留学生对中国的热爱之情。

Hope for a Next Life
Have you ever thought of what will happen to us after we die or how about 2012 21stDecember end of world? Well of course many of us still believe the world might or might not end isn’t it? In this article I am not going to discuss about what will happen on 21stDec 2012 but I want to draw your attention on some important yet strange prediction done by our ancestors regarding life after death.
On early 12 dec we, 2012 International batch students got an opportunity to visitSea Guard Tower (Zhenhailou)of Guangzhou. The museum was full of many curious local people and students from different places trying to know aboutMing Dynasty (1368-1644)and king`s tomb Story. Thanks to Mr. Zhang, our Culture subject teacher for providing us an interpreter who guided us throughout the whole museum.The museum story was all about the tomb in which a King named (Nanyue King) was buried along with some chosen peoples who scarified there life for their loving king. The tomb was buried by theXianggang hill later so that none would know. The antiques found in the Tomb of the Nanyue King are full of jade-work. There are jades for different ceremonies, funerals, decorations and practical usage and many more. Museum also had displayed dozens of western and Chinese fusion styles pottery pillows and ceramic pillows from the Tang Dynasty, Yuan Dynasty and the Ming Dynasty. This amazing museum collection also includes a great many ancient batches for soldiers and many other post of king`s time.
The life of king and other local citizens are demonstrated in the museum through pictures, poster and videos display. The fear of dying was there in the mind of the king therefore there was invention of medicine for living long. However too much of everything is very bad likewise, the greed of living long killed the king by overdose of medicines. There is saying that love is what keeps the whole world attached similarly, the love of king had bounding the citizen so tightly that even after his death some people were ready to go along with him to the other world. They believe that the death was a beginning of next life therefore some solider, kitchen worker, king`s driver and many other daily needed people scarified their life so that king will not be along in his next life. Not only that the kings dead body was beautifully decorated with very expensive pearls and other gold jewellery. The Logic of soul leaving body was beautifully represented by filling the king`s body hole like eyes, ear, nose, etc. with pearl and making hole on the middle of head so that soul will leave from there and it rests in peace. The museum was full of other display items from king`s time such as cooking utensil, swords, army dress, musical instruments but among them the best and beautiful was Jade open work disc with Dragon Phoenix. This logo beautifully explains the Life is completed with the one whom you love and who loves you back.
From this Visit we got a message that no matter whom or what you are nothing last forever. Only way to be alive in this world is to do kind and positive works which make us alive in a heart of living and loving people. None can change the fate of death only we can wait for it to come. The main information is we came to this world empty hand and we have to return the same way no matter how much we earn from this illusion world.
