President Xinhua Wang Delivered Lecture on TCM for International Students

On 19 September 2014, President Xinhua Wang delivered first lecture “Introduction to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) ” for international students of 2011 class in Classroom 17-1B at Dongfeng Campus.

President Xinhua Wang extended greetings to students with fluent English before class, then he introduced TCM systematically, covering such aspects the history of TCM, the essential characteristics of TCM, cognitive and thinking methods of TCM and development and prospect of TCM. President Xinhua Wang said “concept of holism and treatment determination based on syndrome differentiation are the key thoughts of TCM, the culture and ideology of TCM are different from that of Western medicine, we need to recognize these.” When talked about the future of TCM, he hoped each student could study hard, know more TCM knowledge and gain a deeper understanding of Chinese culture and the culture of TCM.

In class, President Xinhua Wang explained the knowledge with vivid body language and had good interaction with students.

王新华校长为留学生讲授中医学课程

9月19日上午第二、三节课，我校2011级临床医学专业(英语授课)（MBBS）全体留学生盼来了《中医学》第一次课，王新华校长在东风校区17栋1B教室全程用英语为他们讲授了《中医学》导论。

王新华校长首先用流利的英语口语向同学们问好，随后从中医学的历史沿革、中医学理论体系的基本特点、中医学的认知与思维方法、中医学的发展和展望四个方面进行了系统讲授。他表示，中医学讲究“整体观念”（Concept of holism）和“辨证论治”（Treatment determination based on syndrome differentiation），运用中医药来应对疾患时要注意与西医认知模式的区别。当讲到对中医学未来发展的展望时，王新华校长希望在座的留学生同学勤奋学习，加深对中医学的认识，更深入地了解中国文化和传统中医文化。

课堂上，王新华校长还与留学生进行了大量互动，结合生动的肢体动作就《中医学》的部分知识向留学生作了详细讲解。
