SchoolofInternationalEducation Held Lecture on Ebola Epidemic
In order to publicize knowledge about Ebola Virus Disease prevention and raise the self-protection awareness against Ebola epidemic, on Nov. 13, 2014,SchoolofInternational Educationheld a lecture on Ebola Epidemic at the lecture hall, 1stfloor of library in Panyu Campus. The invited speakers Huang Jun, associate professor, director of Immunology Department and two international students Nchimbi Sophia Michael、Puja B K Chaudhari gave wonderful lectures separately. Professor Jiachun Lu, dean ofSchoolofInternational Educationhosted the lecture. Over 300 students including international students in Panyu Campus and freshmen of post-graduates attended the lecture.
During the lecture, international students Nchimbi Sophia Michael、Puja B K Chaudhari mainly reported the epidemiology and prevention of Ebola and had a vivid Q & A session with the audiences. Associate professor Huang Jun made a detailed explanation on Ebola Virus including its origin and structure, pathological type, physicochemical properties, the route of transmission, clinical features, diagnosis, treatment and prevention. The audiences knew the Ebola Virus Disease comprehensively, objectively and accurately through the lecture.
Since the current Ebola Virus Disease outbreak inWest Africa, the school leaders attached great importance to the epidemic.SchoolofInternational Educationarranged safety checks and disease prevention in the first time and reported to superior departments timely in accordance with relevant regulation of Ministry of Education, china and the actual circumstances of our international students.
我院举办埃博拉疫情专题讲座
为宣传埃博拉出血热防治知识，提高全体师生自我防护意识，11月13日上午，在番禺校区图书馆一楼报告厅，我院邀请免疫学教研室主任黄俊副教授、留学生Nchimbi Sophia Michael、Puja B K Chaudhari作了题为“埃博拉疫情”的专题讲座。吕嘉春院长主持了讲座，番禺校区全体留学生，研究生学院2014级300余名新生到场聆听讲座。
讲座期间，留学生Nchimbi Sophia Michael、Puja B K Chaudhari重点报告了埃博拉的流行病学特点和预防措施，并与现场观众进行互动问答。黄俊副教授从埃博拉病毒的起源和结构形态、病毒分型、理化特性、传播途径、临床特点、诊断、治疗、预防措施等方面做了详尽的讲解。讲座让在场师生对埃博拉病毒有了一个全面、客观、准确的认识。
自2014年埃博拉疫情在西非爆发以来，学校领导高度重视，我院根据教育部有关文件要求，结合我院留学生实际情况，第一时间安排专项摸查，及时上报有关情况，认真做好疫情防控工作。
