The opening ceremony of the 2014 international students was held on December1 inA3-401.Prof.Wang Xinhua(the president of GMU), Mr.Chen Jie( the Vice Chairman of GMU), Prof.Wei Dongha i(the Vice President of GMU), Prof. Luo Jiandong(the assistant of president), head of the Relevant secondary units and functional departments, the 2014 class international students have attended the ceremony. The opening ceremony was presided over by Vice President Wei Donghai.

Noor fromPakistanand Hamza fromUnited Kingdomspoke separately on behalf of the new students and the senior students. On behalf of the faculty, Professor Qiu Lizi extended the warmly welcomes and earnest expressions of hope to the 2014 class students.

President Wang Xinhua made a passionate speech at the opening ceremony. He first introduced GMU to the students. Then he pointed out that GMU gave the first priority to provision of high quality education for international students, he hoped that students could cherish the valuable opportunity to study inChina, make full use of the rich resources of GMU to acquire knowledge and skills. He also encouraged the students to experience theGuangzhoucuisine and Chinese culture, and strive to become envoy of culture exchange.

我校举行2014级留学生开学典礼

12月1日，我校2014级留学生开学典礼在A3-401举行。学校王新华校长、陈杰副书记、魏东海副校长、罗健东校长助理以及国际教育学院、教务处、统战部、团委、一附院、二附院等相关二级单位及职能部门负责人、2014级来自印度、尼泊尔、坦桑尼亚、孟加拉、巴基斯坦、加纳等国家的留学生新生及在校生代表参加了开学典礼。开学典礼由魏东海副校长主持。

来自巴基斯坦的留学生Noor和来自英国的Hamza分别代表了留学生新生和在校生发言，教师代表，二附院丘理子教授代表留学生授课教师向留学生新生表达了热列的欢迎及殷切的希望。

王新华校长在典礼上开学典礼上作了热情洋溢的讲话，他向留学生介绍了我校的发展情况，并指出学校把最好的师资和最好的教学、生活条件提供给了留学生，希望留学生新生能尽快适应广医的生活和学习环境，珍惜来中国留学的宝贵机会，充分利用学校的资源学习医学知识与技能。他还鼓励留学生要多体验广州美食与中国文化，努力成为各国文明交流的友好使者。
