GMU held 2015 opening ceremony

Guangzhou Medical University held opening ceremony for the international

students on November 16,2015, in Room A3 -404 at Panyu campus.All the international students and relevant administrative

staffs attended the ceremony. The students of class 2015 are from India, Bangladesh, America, Zambia, South Africa and Kenya .

Nazanwa from Zambia(on behalf of new students), Noor from Pakistan(on behalf of all senior students), and Dr.Xiao Yun,a teacher from the first affliated hospital,delivered speeches

respectively.As representative of all the teachers from International School, Dr.Xiao Yun expressed her welcome and expectations of international students.

In the ceremony’s final speech,Wong Xinhua, President of GMU,briefly introduced

GMU and its rapid development.In addition,he welcomed all the international

students,and encouraged new students to explore their new lives here.He said t

hat GMU is making efforts towards asking faculty and staff to provide a good

condition and environment for the students.Towards the end of his speech,he

talked about the importance of international vision and cultural tolerance.He

hoped all the students would put an emphasis on study,and make the most of

their time at university highly effective and have best learning experience.

我校举行2015级留学生开学典礼

11月16日，我校2015级留学生开学典礼在番禺校区A3-404举行。学校王新华校长、陈杰副书记、魏东海副校长、以及国际教育学院、教务处、学生处、团委、一附院、二附院等相关二级单位及职能部门负责人、2014级来自印度、尼泊尔、孟加拉、美国、赞比亚、乌干达、南非、肯尼亚等国家的留学生新生及在校生代表参加了开学典礼。开学典礼由魏东海副校长主持。

来自赞比亚的Nazanwa和来自巴基斯坦的留学生Noor分别代表了留学生新生和在校生发言，教师代表，一附院肖云老师代表留学生授课教师向留学生新生表达了热列的欢迎及殷切的希望。

王新华校长发表了迎新致辞。他首先代表学校对2015级外国留学生新生的到来表示欢迎和祝贺。他简要地介绍了学校的基本情况，他指出近年来学校国际化发展显著，留学生规模日益扩大，相信大家能够在这里度过一段充实的学习时光。最后，他寄语外国留学生，希望留学生们能努力学习，在多元的国际化的学习环境中保有一颗包容之心，广交朋友，多请教老师，适应环境，努力让自己成为一名合格的医学留学生。
