On March, 2016, Mr. George N. Manongi, the Minister Plenipotentiary of Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania in Beijing Visited GMU. Professor Xinhua Wang (the president of GMU) met with the guests. Professor Jianhua Li (the dean of teaching affairs department) and Jiachun Lu (the dean of school of international education) attended the meeting.
President Xinhua Wang extended his warmest welcome to the guests on behalf of GMU, professor Jianchun Lu introduced the teaching and management of our MBBS programme and the Tanzanian students’ study in GMU. Mr. George N. Manongi said China and Tanzania established deep friendship many years, Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania in Beijing would like to serve as a bridge to promote the communication and cooperation between the universities of two sides, he hoped that there would be more Tanzanian students to study in GMU in the future. After the meeting, Mr. George N. Manongi visited the Panyu campus and talked with Tanzanian students.
Till now, there are 12 Tanzanian students in GMU, three of them won Guangdong Government Outstanding International Student Scholarship and National Excellent International Student Scholarship.
3月16日上午，坦桑尼亚驻华大使馆全权公使George N. Manongi访问我校，王新华校长会见了来宾，教务处李建华处长、国际教育学院吕嘉春院长参加了会见。
王新华校长代表学校欢迎George N. Manongi全权公使的到访。吕嘉春院长介绍了我校MBBS项目教学、留学生管理及坦桑尼亚籍留学生在校学习生活情况。George N. Manongi全权公使表示，中国和坦桑尼亚有着多年深厚的友谊，坦桑尼亚驻华大使馆将发挥积极桥梁作用，促进两国高校间的交流与合作，希望未来能向我校推荐和派送更多坦桑尼亚留学生。
来访期间，George N. Manongi全权公使参观了我校番禺校区校园，并与坦桑尼亚籍留学生进行了亲切的会谈。
我校现有坦桑尼亚籍留学生12名，其中3名学生获得了广东省政府来粤留学生奖学金和教育部优秀来华留学生奖学金。
